Our group decided that Qualitative Research is useful for finding the public's deeper opinion on topics, which goes further than them just answering a yes or no question. We saw that this would be useful as we would be able to get some good quotes from the public for our presentation, and we could get a more in depth perspective from certain members of Sydney City.
The questions (the ones that I asked are in bold) that we asked for this part of the activity were;
-
Do you believe that Rozelle Bay should be developed into a residential area? If so, why?
-
What types of store/shops would you like to see?
-
If you were to live in a waterfront house in Rozelle bay, with the view of the ANZAC Bridge and the Centre Point Tower, how much do you believe it would be worth?
-
If the harbour waterways were opened up to the public, what would you want the harbour to be used for?
-
How do you think that unconventional living spots (such as ones near a highway, the water etc) can be transformed into places where people want to buy residencies?
-
Would you be willing to stay in a hotel like this which is in/on the water? Why or why not?

Although it was difficult to get many answers from the questions for various reasons (people saying they didn't want to answer or didn't have the time to answer), the answers, from people in Sydney City, to the questions are in the images bellow:

Because the answers were written in such haste, some of the answers are quite messy so some of the key quotes are listed bellow:
-
"(The hotel) looks interesting and is different to every other hotel I've seen"
-
"It's (liveability) all about what you choose to surround that area with"
-
"If it's for the public, more use (the harbour) for boats or other water activities"
